Cannabidiol (CBD) is becoming more popular throughout the United States with each passing month at the moment, and for good reason. CBD boasts an extensive list of potential benefits for both humans and pets, which is why more people are turning to it as a holistic health aid.
According to a recent study by the World Health Organization’s Expert Committee on Drug Dependence, the benefits of CBD may include pain relief and the ability to ease inflammation and provide antioxidants.
The experts even said that CBD may be able to treat epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, anxiety and depression. That’s without the potential for abuse or dependence.
Still, one of the biggest cited drawbacks of CBD products are their (seemingly) high price tag.
However, the cost of a bottle of CBD capsules or a CBD tincture cannot be valued on their price tag alone.
In fact, the effectiveness of CBD and its potential benefits may just prove to outweigh the cost of your first CBD product.

Want a further look at whether CBD is a cost-effective treatment or not?
Here’s my take.
Are the benefits of CBD worth the price tag?
If you don’t know very much about CBD, you might be a little put off by the $50 to $60 price that’s attached to many CBD products.
And that’s understandable.
But speaking from experience (I’ve used CBD every day for over four months now), the effectiveness of CBD is well worth the price tag.
Here are two reasons why the benefits of CBD are worth the cost:
1. CBD versus Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
To me, in its most basic sense, CBD is the most cost-effective replacement for NSAIDs and all other pain relief medications on the market.
Yes, I said “all.”
If you have done manual labor, played sports or simply dealt with a lot of health issues during your life, you probably have a cabinet full of NSAIDs.
But not only do NSAIDs come with some potential health risks, they can be dangerous to your wallet in the long-run.
As an athlete who has played professional basketball, I can honestly say I know what it feels like to rely on Ibuprofen or Tylenol just to get through the days.
I also can honestly say how much better I feel after ridding them from my body.
Studies have shown the dangerous, and even life-threatening effects of long-term NSAID use. A recent study even linked prolonged use of Ibuprofen with male infertility!
CBD, however, has a different story.
In fact, CBD on its own is effective at neutralizing inflammation in the body, which is the cause of many chronic pain issues. CBD has been shown to reduce inflammation and provide the body with quick pain relief as well.
BONUS: If you would like to enhance the benefits of CBD even further, all you need to do is add a turmeric supplement each time you take your cannabidiol. CBD and turmeric work especially well with each other.
2. CBD can replace many dietary supplements in your cabinet
One of the reasons why CBD is a cost-efficient product is that it can replace a plethora of different supplements.
Americans spend around more than $30 billion per year on dietary supplements — vitamins, minerals and herbal products — according to an article from the New York Times. That’s around $100 per year for every man, woman and child in the United States.
And yet, evidence shows that many supplements may be of no value.
Over the past several years, several major studies have found that multivitamins, for instance, won’t help boost the average American’s health.
Common dietary supplements that you probably will no longer need to purchase by using CBD instead include:
- Fish oil
- Flax seed oil
- Joint support (glucosamine/chondroitin)
If you’re spending anywhere close to $50 per month on supplements, you might want to consider making the switch to CBD.
While I don’t think that dietary supplements are a waste of money overall, they generally are not cost-efficient.
The reason for this is that supplements typically only help in one specific way, while CBD helps your body in numerous ways at once.
Personally, I still use fish oil along with CBD because they work well together, but I don’t even think about using any other more expensive joint or essential healthy fat products.
How CBD is cost efficient for me
CBD products have been instrumental in my improving health over the last four months. Check out AdamKempFitness.com to read more about my journey with cannabidiol.
Because CBD helps me to live healthy and pain free, I’m able to get more done.
In my personal experience, this is one of the greatest benefits of cannabidiol.
That’s because for me, it is not chronic pain that slows me down — it’s the Tourette Syndrome I have been dealing with since I was 10 years old.
Some days, the Tourette Syndrome has me involuntary so much that even sitting on the couch and watching television is difficult.
CBD has allowed me to live a normal and productive life, even on the days when my twitching is especially bad.
No amount of other dietary supplements or medicines have ever given me the true relief that CBD does, which is why I would never hesitate to spend money on it.
CBD has given many people a fuller and more enjoyable life than they ever could have expected, and no price tag can be put on that.
