Shopping around for the best Nevada marijuana prices? The average for a gram in the state is $15. For an ounce, you’ll pay an average of $282.
But savvy shoppers can almost always find better deals. Remember, prices vary by city, strain, season and other variables.
You’ll pay the most, on average, if you live in Las Vegas or Reno. But that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to find some great prices on top cannabis strains, concentrates and edibles.
Medical vs. recreational prices
Recreational cannabis was recently legalized in Nevada, causing the tax on wholesale cannabis to jump up drastically. That means you’ll pay more for adult use. And recreational adult users will pay more on average than medical patients.
“Speaking for Blum, our prices will not change for medical patients or adult use patrons,” says Mikel Alvarez, Director of Retail Operations for TerraTech. Still, both medical and adult-use cannabis purchases are subject to sales tax, he says. And adult-use cannabis purchases will have a 10 percent tax added on. The money raised by this 10 percent tax is to go to the schools.
In addition, dispensaries are somewhat limited in what they can sell for adult-use.
For example, medical patients and recreational users at Blum will be able to purchase the same products, notes Alvarez. But dispensaries in the area can’t legally sell adult-use patrons anything that has over 10mg per serving of THC, or that has over 100mg of THC within the packaging for edibles (+/- 15 percent), he notes.

It’ll cost you slightly less on average to buy larger quantities of cannabis in Henderson. The average per gram is $15 — similar to other cities in Nevada. What to look for in a dispensary
Alvarez points out that this is very subjective. “Each patron is looking for something different for the most part,” he says.
Make sure you’re speaking with a trained budtender who will be able to listen to your needs and help choose the right products. “This is very important, because each product is a little different and we want to make sure that you understand what you will be consuming,” Alvarez notes.
